On March 22, 2025, Joost Zweegers, better known as Novastar, took the stage at the cozy G.C. De Kluize in Oosterzele. With a solid 25-year career as his foundation, he delivered an evening full of musical craftsmanship and emotion that held the audience captive from start to finish.
From the very first song, an understated but intensely performed “Wrong,” the warm atmosphere created by Zweegers and his talented band was immediately felt. With musicians like Mikey Rowe (Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds) and Andy Britton (Robert Plant) by his side, the songs effortlessly evolved from gentle ballads to powerful rock moments.
The setlist offered a beautiful mix of well-known hits and hidden gems, including a sparkling rendition of “Because” and the catchy “Look At You Now.” Zweegers proved himself not only as a masterful singer but also as an energetic performer who delivered his music with full dedication and actively engaged the audience.
A definite highlight was “Deep Are The Eyes,” where the band shone with a captivating guitar solo, and the intimate piano moment during “Lost & Blown Away” hushed the entire room. The closer, “The Best Is Yet To Come,” was sung a cappella together with the audience, creating a particularly emotional finale.
With this memorable evening in Oosterzele, Novastar confirmed his status as one of the most beloved artists in the Flemish music scene, who touches everyone with his timeless songs and sincere performance.
