Not much stirring under the sun these days — but hey, it is summer, after all!
“She Explains Things To Me” (#1) is the second single from David Byrne’s upcoming album Who Is The Sky (out September 5). I personally find it far more appealing than the rather shallow, middle-of-the-road track “Everybody Laughs.”

Johnny Flynn’s voice has a timbre you recognize from a mile away! “Four Letters Of Love” (#2) is the title track from the romantic drama now streaming on Netflix, featuring none other than Pierce Brosnan in a leading role. Not exactly my cup of tea, if it weren’t for the tune sneaking under my skin all the same!

The top 3 is rounded off by “Chesterfields and Aftershave” by Dropkick Murphys. For 30 years now, this unruly gang has been bringing their Celtic-tinged folky punk rock to the masses! 14 albums in, and never a dull moment (to quote good old Rod)! Not everyone can say the same!

It’s been a while since we welcomed Britpoppy bands like Ash and The Charlatans to our midst. But everything comes back around—if we wait long enough!
