In May, I didn’t really have much time to devote to digging deep. I still need to begin the excavations for May 1976, so the results will take a little longer to emerge — probably another ten days or so.
There aren’t that many genuinely new sounds in May 2026. Kevin Morby’s album has actually been out for a few weeks already. It’s a magnificent record that we’ll undoubtedly still be cherishing at the end of the year.
The new albums by The Strokes and The Rolling Stones are just around the corner. For now, we’ll have to make do with a couple of more-than-lovely singles.
There are plenty of comebacks this month as well. Besides the Stones, we’re catching up with Guido Belcanto, Midge Ure, Inspiral Carpets, Editors, Dexys Midnight Runners, Gruppo Sportivo, Neil Diamond, and, believe it or not, good old Macca himself.
Better late than never!
